Viral Marketing Part I

You should be using Viral Marketing in your business! There so many different aspects involved in being a successful Internet Marketing entrepreneur. The one thing I always advise whether you are a beginner or reasonably experienced is to constantly take Internet Marketing Training courses. This will enable you to short circuit the learning process and earn money online easier and faster, I feel fortunate to now be in the position to be offering Internet Marketing Training to assist those getting started on their Internet Marketing journey (you may find one such course at http://www.JobControlBreak.Com/intro.html) . I will cover Viral Marketing in this publication and have conveniently split the topic up into relevant sections for reading convenience.

Creativity:
This is one virtue a site must possess to lead the race in the ruthless competition in the Internet based business. With so many competition and rivalry going on, every method of marketing must be employed and utilized. It doesn’t matter if you have a killer product or a fantastically designed website, if people don’t know that you exist, it doesn’t matter, and you are not going to make it big. Worse of all, you business could just get killed.

While there are so many methods and schemes used by so many e-commerce sites today, there are still some of those that can help you with an extra boost in the popularity ratings. One of these is the so called Viral Marketing. While the term Viral easily depicts a virus, a word very much dreaded by all computer owners, it is not what it seems. You do not actually use a computer virus to spread your business; on the contrary it just might kill you. Everyone has had enough of all those pop up ads and spywares. Do take a look at http://www.JobControlBreak.Com/intro.html and consider taking the F.r.ee Internet Marketing Training course on offer.

More on this in an upcoming post.

Thanks.

In my coaching work I have found that so many people are fed up their jobs and are trying to break free. They are in essence trying to break the control that their jobs have over them. I help many people realize their dreams and they often start with a Home Business and today in my opinion their is not better way to get started than doing so using the power of the Internet. With that in mind I have put together a fantastic training program with one of my business partners, check it out here http://www.jobcontrolbreak.com/

So, Why You Do Want to Start a Home Business? Working from home is a big dream for many. But fear holds many of us back. Below I have listed a few reasons why starting a home business is a great idea.

Your Great Idea Comes to Life. You have a great business idea. This is the number one reason that most people go into business from home. Remember the kind of ideas that are good for a home business are ones that can become real quickly, and start bringing in an income almost immediately

You can do What You Love. Most people have something that they really love to do. Getting paid for doing what you love is a dream come true.

You get to be the boss. No more working your fingers to the bone for someone else. You will be the boss and you will reap the rewards.

Hope these reasons resonate with you, now I suggest you ‘Go For It’ and ‘Just Do It’, pop over to http://www.jobcontrolbreak.com/ and check out the training package there – I am quite pleased with what we have put together and I hope you get much out of it.

As always, do let me know if you have any comments (I tend to get emails but please feel free to post here) as I plan to make other posts based on feedback.

In the last couple of months Capid Houser has launched into the web design and

development business service offering. As a Business Consultant who is always coaching

customer about differentiation and creating and promoting their Compelling Value

Proposition(s).  With this in mind we are offering a package which consists of full Website

Design, Logo Design, Business Consultation covering website optimization, search engine

optimization and marketing fundamentals and all this for an unbelievably low price.

Now onto the main point of the post, I have had many discussions with business owners

to get them to use our services and they often do not see the logic of having a web

presence. I spoke with a business owner yesterday (on Gloucester Rd, Bristol, UK) and

made the following points:-

o Your are leaving money on the table

o There are people who need your products/services who are online & don’t know you

   exist

o There could be someone on the other side of the world ready to be your customer

o Your customer base is no longer just on your doorstep

o The internet will allow you to multiply the time you have to service customers

… and the list could go on and on and on.

If you have a traditional business where you stand in the shop and trade your time for

dollars or pounds, then the internet will allow you to sell and service customers while

you are not sitting in the shop waiting for the next customer.

I will have to deal with this more in another post but please take the learning that in

the age in which we live, you must have a web presence for your small business. You

do not have to be a computer expert because there are companies (such as

Capid Houser) which can provide a complete service to get you online.

Any questions or comments, do get in touch.

With Respect,

-Steve Campbell

In this wired internet age in which we live I do believe that all businesses should be and can harnessing the power of the internet to take their businesses to the next level. In particular, even if your business is a traditional off-line business, you certainly should be using the new technologies to drive customers to your off-line business.

With the rise and rise of the internet it seems that the vast majority of the posts, articles and comments are related to Internet Marketing so I have decided to make a few posts and put some documentation together on off-line marketing as most of my customers are new to the Internet Marketing age. Here I will comment on 2 simple Traditional Off-line Marketing methods, please do not think of these methods as too simple or mundane. They are very effective when done right and combined with other techniques in your marketing arsenal.

Classified Ads
This is something everyone should be testing in some form or another. It’s great for lead generations. You should still have  a strong benefit-driven headline and a clear call to action. Free reports work very well with classifieds. I have noticed that local papers (such my local Friday Ads) has an ongoing deals of booking four weeks for the price of four. Even adding more months only ends up costing a few pounds (or even less dollars!), and there is always room to barter and negotiate price if you are a regular customer. With prices like that, there’s no reason anyone with a website should not be testing ways to draw traffic to the site with Classifieds.

Direct Mail
Nothing beats direct response when it comes to results-driven proven advertising. And messages sent directly to your highly targeted market via direct mail can deliver a terrific return on investment (ROI) when tested properly. There’s a wealth of information on direct marketing by Michel Fortin, David Garfinkel, Gary Halbert, Dan Kennedy, and many more experts. Here are some sites where you can learn more:

http://www.world-copywriting-institute.com – David Garfinkel’s site

Do pop in again to see more on Marketing and on some of my other favorite subjects. And do let me have your comments.

One of the first things I do when working with a new client is to establish what they believe is their Compelling Value Proposition Or Unique Selling Point. Of course this is all marketing speak which the majority of small business owners are not familiar with.

In everyday language the question I lead them to answer is “why should a customer want to do business with me?” or “

what is so special about my product or service”.  The answer to this leads us on to lots of different outcomes as we look at

marketing channels, customer satisfaction, customer retention and so on, some of which I will cover in future posts. But for

you the reader, business owner or someone with a business idea – get a blank piece of paper and write down the answer to

this question.

For example : I (Steve Campbell) have conducted business in around 20 countries throughout Europe, the Far East and

spent much time in the U.S. (which I absolutely loved) as well as living in the Far East (Japan) for over 2 1/2 years. This

coupled with my experience of running my own organization, experience of customers from a wide range of cultures

coupled with a strong academic foundation and expertise in Internet Marketing and developing technologies gives my customers confidence that I can bring all that background to help them with their business.

It is satisfying for me having come from a Research and Development background and a base of marketing in the

computer industry to now work across a wide range of market sectors.

In closing, if you can answer the question as to why someone would benefit from doing business with you, then you will be

in a muich stronger position to start telling people about it and providing your product or service to the world.

Good luck with your business and marketing, let me know if I can be of assistance to you.

Feel free to post your comments and let me know what you think.

Thanks,

PS : check out this resource put together by me and my team

As I discuss the possibility of being hired as Business Consultant often by the small business owner, the question which often arises is “I have managed up until now without a marketing consultant, why do I need one now?” After I dig a little deeper what I normally find is that my prospective client’s business has been stagnant for years, that they have been doing things the way they always have and; as we know that guarantees we get the same results.

Of course, if you have not been trained in the marketing discipline, have a natural tendency or bias to market or not been exposed to classic marketing principles there is not reason why you should know exactly marketing is or how to execute marketing in your business. My advice to any prospective client or to you reading from wherever you are in the world is, if you are not moving with the times, learning and executing sound marketing principles to take your business to the next level – you are missing out on potential new customers, business growth, wealth creation and more.

Specifically, failure to make extensive use of the internet to generate awareness for your company, build your brand, establish your expertise and to reach customers from all corners of the earth is something I consider as a BIG mistake. If you are unable to grasp the new technologies, don’t have the time or personnel to execute the necessary tasks then the next best thing is to hire a consultant.

It is particularly rewarding for me to bring my experience of conducting business throughout Europe, the U.S. and the Far East to my consulting practice and to help in taking my clients business to the next level. Look out for some more posts in the Business Consultancy field real soon and for some products which I am putting together to help other with their marketing.

As always, please do feel free to post your comments and let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Aiming too low is actually a common problem or issue when it comes to Goal Setting so let’s consider some of the reasons why. Because Goal Setting is not a part of the lives of the vast majority of the population, like anything else that we do (swimming, playing and instrument, playing chess etc, etc) the more we do it the better we get! And it is the same with Goal Setting. Constantly setting Goals, working towards them, achieving them and then moving on to the next eventually gets embedded into the Subconscious and becomes a habit.

So now onto the main point – the aiming low part is done as a feel good factor to ensure we actually stay in our comfort zones, we tick the box to say we achieved a Goal when in fact we’ve just done something which we’ve always been doing or which in fact has not moved us on to an higher level. This is where part ‘P’ of the C-A-P-I-D Goal Setting process comes into play.

So to recap on this point – you need to set yourself an B-H-A-G (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) I got that from Jim Collins’ ‘Good To Great’! and then make that Goal proportional i.e. by splitting the Goal up into small manageable achievable chunks. Let’s illustrate this with an example. You hate your job (I use this because this comes up often in my coaching) and wish to change to say be a doctor and you are currently working as a clerk.

Being a doctor is the B-H-A-G so you need to split this down into smaller Goals, first you need to set the time when the goal of being a doctor is to be achieved (this may be 5 years out). Then you need to split the main Goal into smaller ones so, you may to sign up to get yourself the necessary qualifications to be able to get yourself into a training position. I.E. You make the Goal proportional.

In summary, do not sell yourself short, aim high – set yourself a Goal which possible may scare you when you first imagine yourself doing it. Then split this Goal down into smaller chunks and start working towards them. Finally, recognize when you need help, go and get help, get coaching and shorten your learning curve. Value yourself, spend money on yourself and learn from people who have the skills to help you.

Please keep the comments and emails coming in, I promise I will get to everyone of them.

Regards,

-Steve

I am often asked why I spend so much time teaching people about the Subconscious mind as well as focussing on Neuroscience as an integral part of the Self Development programs which I produce and lecture on.

This can of course be a very deep and technical subject and I intend to write a few posts on this subject. Our Subconscious Minds works day and night, 24 hours a day and is our obedient servant. It is now estimated that Our Subconscious is responsible for over 95% of how we act, walk, talk and percieve the world in which we live. To grasp this, just consider the gallons of blood which is now gushing throughout your veins and; the food which is being digested. All these so called automatic functions are being taken care of by your your Subconscious.

Thoughts of fear, lack, poverty, failure will be acted upon the Our Subconscious as thoughts of desire, abundance and achievement will. Our Subconscious takes instructions from our Conscious and so if we are constantly engaged in negative conversations, surround ourselves with ‘enery vampires’,  people who moan and complain constantly then we end up acting upon the impulses which we give to ourselves.

In relation to Goal Setting our job is to pass to Our Subconscious  mind the exact picture of what we want to Be, Do and Have in our lives. Take a blank piece of paper and write our your Goals and Desires for say the Relationship and Financial areas of your life, write at least ten specific desires for each. Read them at least once a day, I recommend before you go to bed and upon rising.

Do this EVERYDAY for at least one week and see what difference it makes to your thoughts and actions, and let me know how you get on.

Remember if you cannot find time to stop and sit down and write out your Goals and Desires then I challenge you as to how serious you are about predicting your future by creating it. In closing I’d like to leave you with this oh so simple yet so deep statement (of which we will go into another time) of Ella Wheeler Wilcoxas she touches on Our Subconscious and the laws of the universe/Quantum Physics.

“You never can tell what a thought will do
In bringing you hate or love-
For thoughts are things, and their airy wings
Are swifter than carrier doves.
They follow the law of the universe-
Each thing creates its kind,
And they speed O’er the track to bring you back
Whatever went out from your mind.”

Yes, we become what we think about. Be careful what you feed your mind, turn of the television, listen to uplifting lectures, read books which take your life to the next level and make the effort to associate yourself with those people who can help you.

Comments alwyas welcome.

This is based on a quote which really resonated with me taken from Jack Canfield’s Success Principles lectures. The full quote goes like this :-

“Winners are those people who make a habit of doing the things losers are uncomfortable doing”.

This quote is now embedded firmly in my Subconscious and I use it to remind me of how to proceed when I am looking to move towards some of the ambitious Goals which I have set for myself. It makes me go the extra mile, learn new things everyday, invest in my Self Development on a regular basis, minimise the amount of time I spend in front of the television and be prepared to ‘different as necessary and depart from the Status Quo. This was the decision I made some 7 years ago when I left employment with Hewlett Packard and now I am predicting the future as far as my career is concerned – by creating it. As I study the likes of Bill Gates, Alan Sugar, John Assaraf and Oprah Winfrey I understand that their outstanding success can be put down to the willingness to do the things the majority of the population are not prepared to do. The vast majority of the population are in what I term the “Social Hypnosis” and not really, really knowing what their purpose is or here they are going (as determined by some basic questioning at the start of any coaching session).

So, the question I have for you is, how is your life? are you doing what you love to do? in other words :-

if you knew that you could not fail what is it that you would be doing?

and, when is “now” a good time to change? Hope these few words will serve to prompting you into action. As always, any thoughts or comments – do let me know as they are always welcome.

To your success.

Avoiding Impulse Spending

Yes, avoiding Impulse Spending is one of the best things we can do to improve our money management. Now, in order to move forward why don’t you answer these questions truthfully:

1.) Does your spouse or partner complain that you spend too much money?
2.) Are you surprised each month when your credit card bill arrives at how much more you charged than you thought you had?
3.) Do you have more shoes and clothes in your closet than you could ever possibly wear?
4.) Do you own every new gadget before it has time to collect dust on a retailer’s shelf?
5.) Do you buy things you didn’t know you wanted until you saw them on display in a store?

If you answered “yes” to any two of the above questions, you are an impulse spender and indulge yourself in retail therapy.

This is not a good thing. It will prevent you from saving for the important things like a house, a new car, a vacation or retirement. You must set some financial goals and resist spending money on items that really don’t matter in the long run.

Impulse spending will not only put a strain on your finances but your relationships, as well. To overcome the problem, the first thing to do is learn to separate your needs from your wants.

Advertisers blitz us hawking their products at us 24/7. The trick is to give yourself a cooling-off period before you buy anything that you have not planned for.

When you go shopping, make a list and take only enough cash to pay for what you have planned to buy. Leave your credit cards at home.

If you see something you think you really need, give yourself two weeks to decide if it is really something you need or something you can easily do without. By following this simple solution, you will mend your financial fences and your relationships.
