For you reading this post and familiar with my writings, you will know that this topic of the use of external marketing, business strategy consultants is one that is dear to my heart.

With the current state of the economy and no immediate signs of an impending upturn, corporations are having to slash budgets and in many cases make many key individuals with very specific skills leave the company.

This is where I see in the near future the use of corporate business strategy consultants [such as myself] becoming more and more in demand as companies look for that vital input of skills and strategies.

The problem that businesses face of cours is that of needing a particular role fulfilled and, not having the time to train staff to be able to perform that role. In these instances will turn increasingly to external expertise.

The beauty of using external expertise is the vast amount of perspective, knowledge and experience that they bring. Also, I have found one great advantage being that I often come having worked in multiple industries whereas we see that typically an executive may have been with one company and in that industry for over a decade.

This perceived strength I have found, is something that in fact acts as a weakness as consultants are able to use strategies and tactics from other industries, modify them and bring benefit to completely different industries.

I am currently in India rolling out a series of Organisational Effectiveness seminars throughout the country that will give leaders the tools to first, develop their own EQ competencies and then to be in a position to develop others in their organisations.

Of course Emotional Intelligence In The Workplace is receiving much attention today – why ? because ‘straight A’ individuals are being hired and managers are realising that the ability to be in touch with oneself [Emotional Intelligence] and correspondingly be able to influence and reach others [Social Intelligence] are some of the key skills that are needed today.

It is great to see that here in India leaders have seen the need for such competencies and I am glad to be here to use my skills to effectively assist in changing the world through promoting excellence via Emotional Intelligence.

How Much Do You Complain?

I was giving a coaching session last week to a dear friend of mine, it was heartwarming when after much work he acknowledged that he was not taking charge of his situation and spending most of his time complaining. In relation to the quote above I would like you to think about your circumstance and those of the people around you (your friends, family, work colleagues etc) and consider the tone and theme of most of the conversations. I am willing to throw out a ‘bet to you that most of those conversations consist of quite a lot of complaining and sentiments that the current circumstances which are not to one’s liking is caused by someone else. i.e. the responsibility for one’s ‘world lies within other people’s hands.

 

Now let’s make this a bit more personal :- what do you do with your time? are you where you wish to be in/with your Relationships, Finances, Physical Self etc? and what are you doing to move yourself towards your ideal situation or circumstance.

 

This short post is to urge you to think about every conversation you have and be honest with yourself in relation to what you are doing every day to produce the life for yourself which you earn for deep down in your heart.

 

As the basis of my coaching focuses on Quantum Physics and the use of Subconscious Mind we do know that getting to grasp with these fundamentals will aid us in predicting our futures by creating it.
