digital internet marketing

These days the big thing in marketing is taking advantage of all of the digital options that are available to you. These tend to be a lot cheaper than using many of the print forms of advertising, so there is no reason not to venture into using at least some of these marketing methods.

In many cases it will only cost you the time and effort to develop the campaign itself. The strategies that are used in digital channel marketing are similar to those used in traditional marketing. The main elements that are used for the creation of a strategy still include …

  • objective setting
  • customer segmentation
  • resource auditing
  • positioning
  • targeting.

Your digital channel marketing strategy should begin with the selection of a target audience.

You will want to target a group based on your product,

brand, and positioning and do so in

the most effective manner that you can.

This means that you will need to do some research on the market, set appropriate objectives, and then implement strategies that will help you to actually meet the objectives that you have set.

For a through the line campaign, you will want to plan how to integrate your digital marketing into your multi channel marketing strategy. Digital marketing is not unlike any other marketing method. In order to provide real value it must fit in well with the overall strategy that is planned for your business.

It is important that you be able to analyze the results of your strategy, so it needs to include targets and objectives that are clearly stated. Regardless of whether you are going to use an email, search, or mobile platform to deliver your message to your target audience, the approach and the strategy that you use should make sense given the behavior of that audience.

You need to make sure that you are not trying

to communicate with users in a manner

that isn’t likely to reach them.

Your marketing message must be communicated clearly and must differentiate you from competitors when you use digital marketing campaigns …

…just as it would have to be with any other type of channel marketing campaign. You can use various channels in order to get people to come to your website, including mentioning your website in radio or TV ads or placing it in print ads or on billboards.

Now that you are convinced of the need for multi channel marketing, you should consider all of the different options available and how they might be useful to you.

First, there are the more traditional print marketing strategies, such as

  • direct mailings
  • inserts in various papers
  • magazines
  • catalog ads

Next, you can do email marketing campaigns. You can use your customer database, or you can use squeeze pages to get potential new clients to market to. You can also use co registration or advertise on other people’s newsletters.

Another big trend is to use social media, either by placing advertisements or adding blogs or videos. You can join different networks as well to get your company name out there.

Search engine marketing is another common strategy. You want to do things that will get your website listed near the top of the results through various SEO techniques, as well as using RSS feeds, pay-per-click campaigns, link building campaigns, and tagging.

Radio and television ads can also be used, including short or long ads or infomercials.

Take advantage of free and paid public relations opportunities, and use inbound and outbound sales calls and teleconferences as well in order to market your product.

Joint ventures with other companies that offer complimentary products can also be of great benefit.

You will have access to their customer databases and marketing efforts as well as your own, and as long as the products are complimentary you should be able to increase your sales since the target audience of both products should be similar.

It is a great way to reach new people that are likely to be interested in what you have to offer.

The options listed above are just a few of the opportunities you can take advantage of in order to set up your multi channel marketing campaign.

Using Online Video III

Now onto the 3rd and final part of this post.

Finally, there’s the “evergreen” method for creating original content for your online video, doing an interview. Contact a recognized expert in your target audience’s niche and ask to do an interview with him or her. It’s a great way for the expert to get the word out about his or her products and area of expertise without spending a dime. Your guest gets free exposure and, if you’ve come up with a series of interesting and thought-provoking questions, you get killer content for your streaming video. You can structure your online video in sections with say powerpoint slides and use snippets of the teleseminar interview to explain the key points of your presentation.

In this stage of the evolution of internet marketing; online video is only growing to grow and grow so it makes sense to take hold of the new technologies and use more and more online video as part of your internet marketing strategies to communicate more effectively with your customers and; to generate more revenue from your product and services.

Using Online Video II

Now onto part II of this fascinating subject.

Now considering your own product, if you’ve done a teleseminar this would be a perfect choice for using with your online video. The teleseminar is already in audio format, and you could segment it to use in successive streaming video episodes. You could choose to use highlights with various pieces of video on a webpage as a lead-in for your listeners to purchase and/or learn more about your quality product or service.

Another idea for online video content is to use audios from seminars that you’ve attended or have conducted. If you’ve hosted your own seminar, then there’s no problem with product rights. Otherwise, before going this route it would be best to determine what rights you have to use the seminar’s content and to make sure that the attendees have signed the appropriate release documents.

If you’re still wondering how to create content for creating your online video, don’t forget public domain content. Government publications and works written in the early 1900’s are a good place to start. Find a topic that offers information that would be of interest to your target audience and use it in your online video for communication the message about your product or service to your end user customer.

I will finish up this post tomorrow.
